Adult Individual Therapy
Practical, evidence-based strategies for creating lasting change.
Our Approach
Our approach to individual therapy is explorative, collaborative, and relational. We work alongside you as a guide, helping you map out the connections between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. We support clients in learning when to sit with emotions, rather than avoid, and when to use practical coping strategies to help you re-engage in day-to-day life. Using structured, proven methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and Anxiety Disorders, we help you get to the root of your challenges and build a practical toolkit to navigate life with more confidence and clarity.
We offer in-person and virtual therapy sessions for clients across Santa Monica, Brentwood, West Los Angeles, Westwood, Beverly Hills, Culver City, and nearby Westside neighborhoods.

Common Questions about Individual Therapy
-
While talking is essential, our work is highly focused on skill-building. We operate from a CBT framework, which means we actively work to identify unhelpful thought patterns and behavioral habits that impact how we feel. We’re here to collaborate with you, to help you reflect on the thoughts and patterns keeping you stuck, and to introduce coping (both cognitive and behavioral) to help you move forward differently.

CPT is a highly effective, structured therapy specifically for trauma. After a traumatic event, it's common to develop rigid, negative beliefs about yourself, others, and the world, which CPT refers to as “stuck point”. CPT helps you systematically examine and challenge these "stuck points," allowing you to develop a more balanced and compassionate perspective. It’s a way to process the trauma without having to repeatedly relive the details.

At our core, we are therapists who believe in the power of relationships and attachment as a primary tool for healing. We use Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), a form of therapy that focuses on creating a safe relationship for healing, to explore emotions, and to undo the aloneness that comes along with trauma and challenging life experiences. AEDP is experiential, meaning it focuses on the present moment and the emotions that arise in session; somatic in that it incorporates body-centered techniques to help clients connect with their physical sensations and emotions; and transformational, meaning that it utilizes client’s innate healing abilities to transform trauma into an opportunity to grow.

We understand. The first step in burnout recovery is often just stopping the drain. Our initial sessions will focus on immediate strategies for stabilization and boundary-setting to create some breathing room. We meet you where you are and build momentum slowly, focusing on small, sustainable changes that restore your energy over time.
