Child Therapy
A supportive space for children to learn, grow, and feel understood.
Our Approach
Our approach is compassionate, evidence-based, and tailored to the unique world of children. We use structured modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT),Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and the therapeutic power of play to help children build real-world skills. This isn't just about managing behavior; it's about fostering emotional intelligence, resilience, and confidence that will last a lifetime.
In our work with children, we collaborate closely with parents to ensure skills learned in therapy are supported at home. Oftentimes, in order for children to change, their environment needs to change. While some families want this support, others can find this overwhelming. Our approach is to use your expertise about your children combined with our training to better support your child’s individual needs. Our goal is to help you build a secure, attuned relationship with your child to help support them as their challenges change as they grow and evolve. This is why we believe in early, family system intervention.
We offer in-person and virtual therapy sessions for clients across Santa Monica, Brentwood, West Los Angeles, Westwood, Beverly Hills, Culver City, and nearby Westside neighborhoods.

Common Questions about Child Therapy
-
Children communicate through play. Our therapists are trained to understand the stories, feelings, and struggles a child expresses through art, games, and imaginative play. It allows them to process complex emotions in a way that feels natural and safe, without the pressure of a face-to-face conversation.
-
TF-CBT is a gold-standard treatment for children and teens who have experienced trauma. It's a highly effective model that involves working with both the child and the parent. The process includes building coping skills, processing the traumatic memory in a safe and gradual way, and strengthening the parent-child bond to create a secure foundation for healing.

You are a vital part of the team. We work collaboratively with you, providing regular updates and sharing strategies you can use at home to support the skills your child is learning in therapy. Oftentimes, parents will meet with their child’s therapist at least twice per month. This often decreases to monthly check-ins over time as symptoms improve. Your involvement is key to creating lasting positive change.
